Professional experience
Ainsley Jolley is currently the Director of the Emerging Technologies and Asian Growth Project at the Centre for Strategic Economic Studies, Victoria University. He is an economist who has occupied senior positions in many different spheres of Australian life. For example, he has been Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Melbourne, Economic Advisor to the Federal Treasurer, General Manager of Economic Affairs at the Victoria Chamber of Manufactures and Director of the Victorian Government's Regulation Review Unit. His areas of research expertise reflect this broad background, and include economic development (with particular reference to the Asia-Pacific region), immigration, industry policy environmental issues and the analysis of the performance of particular industries.
